There is no dearth of talent in Assam. However, to crack national-level competitive examinations, the kind of ecosystem is required, that has not been built up yet in Assam. Students from Delhi, Bihar and Southern states perform much better in all the examinations under UPSC and other competitive examinations compared to students from Assam. In such circumstances, a government coaching institution to train the students of Assam is the need of the hour. Inaugurating the twenty-five days’ online programme on “How to prepare for APSC and UGC-NET (Economics): Learn from Professors and Officers,” organised by the Department of Economics, in association with Arts Stream, Sibsagar Commerce College, keynote speaker Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Advisor to the Education Department, Government of Assam has said this.
In this context, he stressed on the issues of connection between syllabus, society, and economy, creation of complete human beings in the light of New Education Policy, the spread of technical and vocational education with a logical stance. Joining the programme as distinguished speaker, Dharma Kanta Mili, Director of Higher Education urged all the students to realise their inner strengths and work hard on their goals.
