World Environment day was organised by the Pollution Control Board, Assam in association with Eco-Club and Red-Ribbon Club of Sibsagar Commerce College. The Programme was initiated with the lighting lamp by Dr. Saumar Jyoti Mahanta, Principal of Sibsagar Commerce College. A key note speech was delivered by Dr. Nitali Doley, PCBA focusing on the theme "Land restoration , desertification and drought resilience " . Dr. Saumar Jyoti Mahanta, Principal SCC in his in augural speech enlightened the audience on the rising concern of the environment . Dr. Monjumoni Das Associate Professor , Sibsagar University in her informative and influential power presentation elaborately reached the students / audience on the theme. She emphasised on the importance of individual and collective action in combating climate change and preserving biodiversity.
