Sivasagar District Yogasana Competition Marks the 10th International Yoga Day

Sivasagar June 16 2024 – In celebration of the 10th International Yoga Day 24 the Sivasagar District Yogasana Competition was held 16-06-2024 at the Sivasagar Commerce College auditorium. This grand event celebrated the spirit and benefits of yoga witnessing enthusiastic participation and showcasing exceptional talent in Yogasana from across the district. Esteemed guests and judges graced the occasion, making it memorable for all involved. The competition featured 113 Nos. of participants from the student community, various yoga centers and the general public across the Sivasagar District demonstrating their skills and dedication to yoga. All yoga instructors from the yoga centers of Sivasagar District participated actively, contributing to the events success.
Distinguished Guests
1. Dr. Saumar Jyoti Mahanta, Principal of Commerce College inaugurated the competition with an insightful speech on the importance of yoga in daily life.
2. Sri Jagat Shyam Pradhan Acharya of Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Betbari shared his thoughts on integrating yoga into the educational curriculum.
3. Sri Sanjay Upadhyay District Sports Officer, Sivasagar, emphasized the role of yoga in sports and physical fitness.
4. Madhab Das, Tourism Development Officer for Golaghat, Jorhat, and Majuli discussed the potential of yoga tourism in the region.
5. Nayanmoni Pamegam Tourism Development Officer Sivasagar highlighted the benefits of yoga for travelers and tourists.
6. Dr. Rinku Ranjan Borah, District Nodal Officer (DNO) AYUSH Sivasagar, spoke about the health benefits of regular yoga practice.
7. Sri Kalyan Barua, District Program Manager (DPM) AYUSH, Sivasagar, provided insights into the districts initiatives to promote yoga.
8. Jayanta Bez, Chief Judge, oversaw the competition proceedings with utmost fairness and dedication.
