The food exhibition was organized by the Department of English for BA/B.Com 2nd semester students. It was a part of their internal assignment marks. The main objective of this show was to engage students on research activities and hands-on practice to build up their culinary skills. The department, as well as the principal of the college, felt that in today’s generation, very often students cut and paste and submit their assignments. But an activity like this helps them to improve their research mindset. There were 30 groups in total, and each group was assigned a community, for example, Bengali, Mishing, etc. The students went and researched in the respective areas and prepared recipes of all the items of that particular community. A special thanks goes to the principal, Dr. Samarjyoti mahanta, for his everyday encouragement of making the students very skilled.
